Here are our father son project we are working on. 2 seater go cart. We put a HF 420 motor in it with a 40 series clutch. We also widened the chassis to fit the RZR seats. We took it out to sunfair a week ago and it rips. The kids have been having a blast riding it around the property. Our son has had a blast working on it and learning.20230422_192850.jpg20230419_205501.jpg20230419_191825.jpg20230419_190034.jpgScreenshot_20230418_191636_Firefox.jpg20230420_205420.jpg20230419_205002.jpg20230419_204825.jpg

Some fully fabricated d44 knuckles we built for the expo we built a few years ago. These are specifically made to allow a custom machined rotor hat to accept a 14 inch rotor with 6 piston will wood calipers. He recently took it down to Mexico and pit it through it paces. We love it when are parts get tested and used. 20221117_183857.jpgNo issues as well.

It was nice. I tacked them in the fixture and pre heated them before welding. Welds layed in super nice. chromoly is always a pleasure to weld.
I was just going to ask you about pre-heating before welding.

What's your process on something big/thick like that? do you stick it in an oven so everything stays clean or???

I put them into the jig and preheated in my small powder coat oven up to around 400* . Once I remove it I do the first pass making sure not to over heat the material.. While it is still hot I will make the second or wash pass where needed and then let it slowly cool. If needed you can put it into a bucket of sand and cover it to allow it to cool slow or cover it with a welding blanket.

are the sprindles something you are going to offer in the future?
We plan too. I have had some interest but the price factor isn't that appeasing. LOL just the big brake kit is costly. 6 piston calipers and 14 inch rotors add up.
We will be making a 2wd race setup with lift built into the knuckles set up for 2.5 hubs, big brakes and uniballs. This setup will be going on a beamed tundra we built recently.

We made this for our sons 6 grade math/ science teacher. It was pretty cool to make. It is a ball in a box that was machined out of a solid cube of 6061 aluminum. It turned out pretty cool. I hope his teacher like

An update on the CM Expo rear cradel for the fuel tank. We will be building a custom fuel tank that fits this area. We are shooting for about 40 to 50 gallons. With my mathe we should be right there. In the future he will be having a bladder made. Gotta pick up some more tubing to finish it off.
