Took the truck out for its first flight test last weekend and stuffed the slipyoke into the back of my trans and broke something in the transmission. I'm assuming I made the mistake of only checking plunge at bump, ride height and droop. And somewhere in the cycle I have more then the 1" of plunge i thought I had lol after talking to some of the guys at the event I was at they were surprised I wasn't running a 2 peice driveshaft being on leaf springs. I'm curious what the best course of action is, should I take my measurements more carefully and try to make a one peice work or should I build a 2 peice for it.
Truck is a obs ford single cab short box leaf spring, c6 transmission and 9inch rear end. Current driveshaft is I believe 51" long.

See if Culhane Transmission still has any C6 tailhousings witha fixed yoke. Then you put the slip in the driveshaft (much more robust and reliable).
I forgot to add it in my post bit there is a c6 local to me with a fixed yoke tail housing. Trans wouldn't work in my truck (it's a big block trans) but I could rob the parts off it. $150

Yup thats a great deal! Do it for sure!
Update. Stopped by my friends dads house to ask him about rebuilding my transmission or buying another one from him, he said he has few fixed yoke c6 set ups he's beens sitting on for close to 30 years and he's just giving me one.

Update i have the fixed yoke parts.
I usually build my own driveshafts and just take them to get balanced. If I'm going to build a slip driveshaft where is a good place to but the parts, never had to build a slip style so im a little lost as to where source the correct stuff

Cycling leaf springs really only gives you a ball park. They’ll move all over the place beer load. 1” extra on the slip with leafs isn’t close to enough. I’d get a 5-6” usable slip joint and build it with extra slip in both directions.

Hard lesson learned lol, transmission is getting repaired and fixed yoke conversion done. Been trying to find a good slip portion, I found one that's 10.5 of slip but it's on ebay and I'm a little leery of it. Not really sure where to find good quality driveshaft parts like that.
