Hey guys, been reading around this site for a while and figure I would do a thread on my Bronco. I’ve owned it since August of 2019 and it took a ton of time and effort to get it where it is now so this may seem long, but I promise it will be good! I have done everything on this truck on a budget building most of everything I can muself. My wife named it Brittney as people are always “Look its OJ” so she can say “No, its Brittney Bitch”. We have some fun humor with that.

It came already with what I believe are older solo bumpers front and rear and the WORST 33’s I’ve ever had. It didn’t run well and even stalled driving on the trailer, but the A/C worked! The rear cargo area was bad. It looked like it was a work truck that was abused. It took me over a year of driving/ using the truck to get all the mechanical gremlins out of it with the codes. Everything from TPS to bad wiring, the shift solenoid block in the transmission and bad ABS controller (that I ended up bypassing) but the truck never saw a tow strap and never missed a trip!20190804_185525015_iOS.jpg

In the middle of working through the mechanical stuff I scored a set of Alcoas on offerup with new 33 BFG’s and it made the look so much better. I’ve always wanted to keep the 90’s OG look but making everything work how it should.

I ran a while like this just all stock until I got an awesome deal on 35’s then I really wanted to go to something like a Solo or Desolate stage 2. I ordered a set of Solo radius arms, did the cut and turn on the floor of my garage and found the right spring on amazon after digging forums for weeks! I found a set of fox’s that someone took off their desolate kit to go to coil overs, so I scored those for a great price. It made such a big difference, and it rides awesome. Then talking with some friends, I scored a deal for a desolate rear shock mount, front D44 Detroit locker and 4.56 gearset. I paired the shock mount with a set of gen 1 raptor rear shocks that I found on marketplace, but it was still on a stock leaf pack with a lift block.

The truck was used like this as a chase truck for a friend’s race team in BITD (Caliente and Parker). We took it to Dumont and duned it with a bunch of sxs, need more HP for this!

About a year later, I found a set of national 3” leaf springs and off brand shackles for a score a decided this was the way I was going to go. I lowered the stock shackle hangers and built a bracket off the bottom of the frame to receive the now two lower hanger bolts. This set the ride height almost perfect. I did have to redo the shock mounts for the new springs, but everything cycles nicely, and this made the truck way more fun to drive.

Suspension wise, this is the way the truck sits now, and my wife and I beat the crap out of it all the time and love it. We even go married in it true Vegas style!20221119_224455550_iOS.jpg

Recently I have been trying to refine little things like replace the dash, fix rattles and make it nicer to drive on the street. I found a E150 power steering bracket for a Saginaw pump on eBay for next to nothing. I decided to do that swap. I live in Vegas and like to drive it around in the summer, so I added an electric fan to the front as a pusher to the A/C condenser, so it runs ICE COLD in 120* heat. While I had it apart, I pulled the HID bulbs out of the red rings and changed them with LED bulbs from amazon. I wanted to keep the round light 90’s look but the HID’s were terrible. The amazon bulbs are surprisingly good and way brighter than the HID’s were.

Been working on adding the spare tire carrier back on the rear. I modified the stock tire mount to lower the tire to just rest on the top of the bumper. If I just flipped it over and drilled new holes, it was too low and wouldn’t let the carrier close as the tire hit the bumper. Yes, I plan on trimming it up to make it look better when I final weld it all. I will post some updates as I finish it up.

Love it Dude!

This is exactly what I want to do with my Bronc. (cheap and low)

I'm going to do dual raptor takeoffs in the front, Single in the back.

Can I get more info on the spring you used on the front? 2" or 4" "lift"? I'm looking for 2".

Thanks! Defiantly on the cheap but works. The front spring is a 4" now. Mine had a 2" on it when I got it and I believe it was a pro comp or just a generic spring.

Very cool build. Broncos are still the coolest vehicles ford ever made.

What year E150's do the sag pump brackets come out of? Direct bolt on to a 351?
