A few weeks ago, i got a msg from my boss at night, inviting me out for a quick day trip for the following day. We'd explore with a group from Orange County. I said yes.
We departed at 7:30am on Sat. and made way towards Mojave. I was pretty excited. It was a my first Jeep adventure. We stopped at McD's for a quick bite and coffee.
We all meet up and headed to our first stop at the Jawbone Canyon Store.
From there, we made our way north and turned off at Last Chance Canyon Rd. (EP15). There, we sync'd on to the same channel/frequency and made way to Holly Ash Mine.20221126_112626.jpg

Following the trail, we passed afew first come first serve cabins that one is able to utilize, on our way to Bickle Camp. Bickle Camp was pretty cool. The caretaker gave us a tour and a rundown of the place.

We had lunch before we continued up the hill to Burro Schmidt Tunnel. Its amazing how a single person dug out a ~1/4 mile long tunnel. We grabbed our flashlights and walked it through and through. I suggest a good face covering from the dust that gets kicked up. I made due with my tee shirt.

From the tunnel, we headed down the mountain and out Mesquite Canyon [Rd.]. Aired up the tires and got onto Redrock Randsburg Rd. We made a last stop in Cal City for Mexican food and drinks. We all talked for a while after dinner before we all headed our seperate ways home.
It was a great group of people and am greatful having been invited out.

Over all, 10/10 rating. Great trip, people, etc.

Our vehicle was the Rubicon in the back of the pack.

hell yeah, thanks for sharing the trip!
I haven't done any of that stuff - how was the trail? bumpy, whoops? rocky?

Thanks for sharing. We did Last Chance Canyon on Thanksgiving and the only thing we saw was the Bickle Camp. Crazy how much more is out there. We just ran out of time that day to see any more.
