Arizona Peace Trail prelander run

Just floating out the idea of a possible moderately go-fast prelander run for 2025. I've been brainstorming with 4lowlance and Endless Trails about running the 675 mi Arizona Peace Trail as a BLGT multi day run. Jared and I did the upper portion (Parker to Hualapai and back) in 2 days in 2019 (can't remember the total miles) with our fathers and sons RZR group and then we ran the lower portion (433 mi) out of Yuma in two days in 2021. Both years we had 9 or 10 RZRs on trail. The RZR group doesn't camp so we did it with hotels (hot showers and bars) each night (not complaining!). We may soon be throwing a dart at the 2025 calendar to pick a long weekend to do it with BLGT. Maybe start and finish in Parker at the Bluewater, that's where we stayed and left our trucks and trailers in 2019. You lose a day getting there and a day back home. We'd probably figure 3 days on trail, which would be a good clip, 4 days on trail would be more comfortable. I don't remember having to switch into 4x4 at all on the RZR trip. It'd be a camp on trail prelander trip. Fuel will be an issue for most but there are places to get off trail to get fuel and we all carried extra fuel. Any interest? Keith Mac

Let’s go! Been looking into it for a few months to do half of it (Yuma to Parker) but the whole loop sounds awesome!!

I would totally be interested, of course that's if I have something to run it in by then, my jeep is still in a million pieces and my GMC is still on stock suspension unfortunately, damned priorities lol.

I did the lower section in my truck and it ended up being almost 500 miles from Parker to Parker. I might be interested if the truck is still together. Parker pass is a bitch in a big truck fyi but totally doable. Below is a picture from that trip.🤌🏾

Mind explaining the parker pass area?

The speed of your vehicle isn’t really that important. The “pace” is set more by the length and frequency of stops.

That being said, I wouldn’t bring a stock truck. I would think 33/35s with 2.0+ shocks minimum to be comfortable

I talked to @Pt Mugu RAM 4x4 and I’m going to make a new post for this trip after we set a date. He and I will work together on the route. I’m leaning towards moving it to March as April is already very busy.

Awesome!

Just an option for getting on trail research, I started looking at this trail a while back I was able to get the main gps imported to onX from the main Arizona peace trail website.
