I bought this Ranger for $500. It wouldnt start, and ended up being both the heads were cracked.. So i bought some 1.75”x 0.120” tube and pulled out the HF Flux core and got to work.
Also just got some Trailer Products 6” Bedsides. 8986B20A-6377-46B0-B59E-11BAFE8812C4.jpeg

Got an Utah temp plate and took her out to Knolls OHV. Mini sand dunes surrounded by desert and salt flats, about an hour east of the Bonneville Salt Flats.911E1B22-C0C1-4CD1-BC55-0A43A842AA19.jpeg

Remind us what valving is in the rear shocks….

Bumpstop psi?
F31’s?

IIRC, FOA bypasses with resis moved to bottom of shock body?

They are an unknown Ranger 8 leaf pack. Re-arched at Deaver and they said they were not their leaf pack. If I remember correctly, they also added a leaf.

FOA 2.5x14” triple bypass with lower mount resi

Regular pyramid stack, all free bleeds open
Comp is all 10s
Rebound is all 8s
Shocks 250 psi
Tubes all completely open.

Rear bumps 50psi

Felt a little stiff except jumping it pretty small.
From the whole trip, I had about 1” out of a 2” stroke rear bumpstop used.
Im going to try to make a youtube video that has more footage to upload.

3 free bleeds and a 10 stack should be incredibly soft.

I’m guessing stiffness/harshness is from improper shackle angle and length or leaf spring rate.

It does feel pretty soft, but then feels like its blowing through the travel and smacking the bumps.
Rebound looks to soft as well.
Leaf spring rate may be a little high because of the lack of weight in the rear, basically just tube and two spares.
I set the springs up by bolting the shackle to the main spring and rear hanger then pushing the rear hanger back as far as possible. Achieving a slightly longer mounting distance than spring free arch length eye to eye. I did not change front hanger at all, and did not change rear hanger height.
How do you set up springs that have a similar vertical shackle setup?
