Traded my semi built ranger for a stockish bronco after my son was born for some more room. I’ve always wanted a bronco and figured it was the perfect timing. Picked it up in August 2020

And just started trying to figure out what the plan was. Bought the desolate engine cage and some new 12” king c/o and bakerfab cut me some DIY radius arms burned those in and he helped me truss the front and glue it all together. Then picked up desolate motorsports rear shock mount and shackles. With the Deaver Q80. My first time trying to fabricate anything. I mounted the bump stops. Welded the radius arms. Mounted some master craft seats on stock sliders and threw in an expedition center console. Built a rear storage mounting rack to house a spare and some other stuff. Still needs works but she’ll get there.

Start of the front end November 2020. DIY radius arms. Desolate motorsports shock mounts.

Got the bumps mounted (my first time doing anything like that). Picked up my rear springs and started trying to figure out rear storage. I built the mounting system.

Started planning for a trip to Barstow in in April 2022. So I made a light mount for the front and put some switches in. Got my rear springs on and had Kevin with dialed tune my front shocks and put 90° fittings on them. Got my spare mounted in the rear.

Is that a 35 laying in the back?

I didn't think they fit laying down.

Broncos are so cool.

So I took it out to KOH in 2023 and broke the windshield from it coming lose in the frame and I took it out and it pretty much sat for a while and didn’t touch it. Fixed a crack in the a pillar. Kept having drive shaft issues due to still using the factory wedge for the leaf springs. And finally started to work on it again. Finally got some rear bypass and had Kevin at dialed work his magic on those. Finally put some gears in it (4:88 and a true trac) ditched the wedge and fixed the pinion angle. Picked up a set of giant drop beam brackets. Fixed a few other things. And back to using it again. And that’s pretty much current. Got a few things in the work ma for some upgrades. I love this thing. Eventually wanna do a 6.0 4l80 swap and ditch the tired and worn out 302.

Notice any difference with the drop down brackets?

Handling, Better or worse?

When I got the bronco it had some cheap drop down brackets for the lift. And when I didn’t the engine cage I left them. I wanted to do the drop downs instead of C&t. It does feel more stable than the old ones. But it technically already had them.
