The time has come to let go of my double cab. For those that don’t know it, Mikey over at the Fab Lab in Simi has done 90% of the work. Not a big car salesman as I typically hold onto my stuff for long periods of time. Truck is not flawless but is in very good shape. Not sure where to price it but i am starting at 25k. Located in Bakersfield. Parts list below.

Cons-
Famous 1st Gen headlight/side marker mounts are jankey and I added zip ties in places to hold everything down better. Planned to cut it all out and install a 1 piece clip but never did it.
Fiberglass was never painted after install but still looks decent. Rear bedcage could use some touch up paint or powder from loading/unloading during trips.

It’s an awesome truck just think ppl aren’t really buying right now and 25k it does have a stock rear end and only 2.5 shocks.
Are the 2.5” shocks too small for an everyday prerunner? Do people use 3.0s+ to their potential these days? I only ask because I havnt over worked these shocks yet. Maybe I need to keep trying.

just hardly see ppl using 2.5s now everything is 2.5 3.0 or 3.0 I would do what 4xfoor says wait for the right buyer someone is going to scoop it up

Thanks for the reply. What I personally think is there is too many people watching Terra videos thinking they need 3.5 finned Kings to go out and pre run for a day. What do I know though. Tuned shocks run the dez.

i feel like since prerunners are phasing out of the "cool" trend and its either a utv or overlander scene now a days which is bringing down the market. its a nice truck and def got the asking price into it but i got my ttb linked caged and supercharged tundra for not a huge chunk more than ur asking

I think you can get that. Stock tundras aren’t far off, and this thing is super clean. I wouldn’t worry about shock size. I have a single 2.5” coilover on each corner and it’s a blast

Sounds like you got a killer deal.

Also completely different purposes. Yours is a very comfortable truck that’s better suited for DD purposes. I know which tundra he’s talking about and, while it probably is comfortable on longer trips, I wouldn’t want to DD it.
For sure. This truck was built with that being in mind. Which you already knew that lol. I’ve had 4 mountain bikes loaded down in the bed with 4 adults and gear inside and it was no big deal. It’s a great all around truck. If I wanted a linked and fully caged truck I’d just build a Ranger and know that it’s going to be towed where ever I go. Family’s not rolling down the 5 freeway in a caged ext cab ranger lol

I’ve bought and sold many cars and trucks and once you pass $20k, cash buyers start to dwindle quickly. I had mine listed for $28k during the peak of prices and got a bunch of tire kickers at $20k. Even for my Caddy I had a guy who wanted to give me $15k cash and finance the balance, though the car could (I didn’t sell it) easily be financed due to value. Unfortunately that doesn’t apply for our Tundras otherwise selling prerunners would be much easier.

Good luck with the sale. If I didn’t have my Tundra, I’d buy this in a second.

It looks like a clean truck, I'd say youre in the ballpark price-wise. I think youre in that "gray area" where more/purpose built trucks are becoming attainable around that price, but like has already been mentioned, theyre not as street-able as this truck is. Id be patient and wait for the right buyer, someone thats looking for exactly what your truck already is.

(But WTF do I know, I dont sell anything)
