Well I had my build on that other dead site so lets move it over... I do little updates on it but mainly just drive then prep for the next trip (Toyota prep= I wash it sometimes and add gas)

Bought a 1988 Toyota 4Runner from the original owner back in 2010 for $800 with 175k on it. Blown motor due to their 16 yr old son running it out of oil. Came with a stack of receipts where they got all the work done at Toyota Carlsbad.

Before rebuilding the motor I found a smokin deal on front suspension:
$2k got me:
TC gen 2 kit (Never ran just installed as mock up)
8 inch Fox 2.5 Coilovers (mock up only)
TC steering (Idler and tie rods)
4.56 front gears lincoln locked
4.56 rear gears with locker (Slide pin style blanking on brand right now)

Rebuilt the motor at my buddies shop and got her on the road.

Traded my stock front fenders/hood for Glass to someoone off DR:

Had Deaver make me a set of springs for the rear. F67 with a little more Arch and an extra leaf or 2 (Been a while since I got them)
Found some 9 inch shackles in the trash at a buddies shop and bought the other goodies to mount the springs along with a fram support for the front:

BUilt some hoops for the front coilovers. Used 2 coilovers as mock up on each side so I had room for a Bypass when I bought them.
12 3/4 inches of travel with the CV's clearance to get all the travel.

Mounted up the Deavers. Friend was visiting from TN so had to make some quick dirty shock mounts for a single night run (Yes I know, falling rate/ shock angle Blah blah... Dont care it got me to the desert for the run and back)

BUilt my own bedsides by modding some long bed glass fenders. Shortened them 8 inches and then lowered the wheel lip by 4 inches to hide the bedside/fender whell inside. I also raised the factory wheel well inside by 2 inches. (Limited pics on this PC). Needed them due to the rear tires throwing rocks at my mirros and them bouncing off the mirros inside the cab and hitting us while we drove.

Got new tires and wheels at some point. 33 x 10.50 x 15 BFG's on some Methods:

Started on the roll cage. Cab part first. Through the stock dash, through the floor to the frame all while retaining the stock Headliner, A and B pillar trim to make her look pretty.:

Took the Bypasses that have been sitting on the shelf for something like 7yrs and mounted them in the front. Found out bypass and coilovers are different lengths so that planning 10yrs ago did not work. Had @the bodj Cut me some custom tabs to make them fit.

Anyone have any tricks of getting some pics off of old DR? I cant even get the site to open now and all my rear cage, Storage and motor upgrades are in there...

Built a rack in the back that fits on top of the spare tire. Shortened an ammo can that fits basically any tool needed to fix a Toyota with a few electrical and random odds and ends that I may have needed over the years on the trail.:

Engine crossmember built when the hoops were done:

The keen observer will notice she now has a 22RET (T stands for turbo). I rebuilt the 22re and wanted a little more power. Sold it with something like 5k miles on the fresh rebuild and bought a Turbo 22re, wiring and computer. Rebuilt that, new rebuilt head. Had the injectors cleaned and match flowed. Re wired the harness a little to work with a manual trans instead of an automatic with some help from a couple buddies.

Still got used the whole time:
