Well I had my build on that other dead site so lets move it over... I do little updates on it but mainly just drive then prep for the next trip (Toyota prep= I wash it sometimes and add gas)
Bought a 1988 Toyota 4Runner from the original owner back in 2010 for $800 with 175k on it. Blown motor due to their 16 yr old son running it out of oil. Came with a stack of receipts where they got all the work done at Toyota Carlsbad.
Before rebuilding the motor I found a smokin deal on front suspension:
$2k got me:
TC gen 2 kit (Never ran just installed as mock up)
8 inch Fox 2.5 Coilovers (mock up only)
TC steering (Idler and tie rods)
4.56 front gears lincoln locked
4.56 rear gears with locker (Slide pin style blanking on brand right now)
Rebuilt the motor at my buddies shop and got her on the road.
Traded my stock front fenders/hood for Glass to someoone off DR:
Had Deaver make me a set of springs for the rear. F67 with a little more Arch and an extra leaf or 2 (Been a while since I got them)
Found some 9 inch shackles in the trash at a buddies shop and bought the other goodies to mount the springs along with a fram support for the front:
BUilt some hoops for the front coilovers. Used 2 coilovers as mock up on each side so I had room for a Bypass when I bought them.
12 3/4 inches of travel with the CV's clearance to get all the travel.
Mounted up the Deavers. Friend was visiting from TN so had to make some quick dirty shock mounts for a single night run (Yes I know, falling rate/ shock angle Blah blah... Dont care it got me to the desert for the run and back)
New hotness for the rear. 18 inch Fox 2.5 3 tube bypass :
Made some hoops to mount them:
DJ Limit srtaps and Shifter boots to keep the dirt o the outside of the vehicle:
