I'm going to try tractor supply enamel with the rebuild I'm doing right now. It seems to be slightly flexible on the test samples I tried. Only one way to find out right. You find anything else?

I'm a Toyota guy but I like it to strike the center of the leaf mount if you don't have the shock there I like it since it has more mass for the energy to transfer through rather the axle tube. I'm guessing everyone has there own opinion where it should be. Do you have pic of your setup?

Are they the regular can style or the newer clamp style? Have you cycled the leafs yet?
