Have you made a decision on axle shafts yet? Any chromo axles with full circle c-clips on the u-joints will be 100% better than stockers. The stock shafts with the half circle clips are garbage, the cap starts to spin, that spits out the retaining clip, then you loose the cap and the u-joint...

Better late than never? Lol. I would not go any higher than 5.13s with the 4cyl. I've done a handful of updates to the truck over the past few years. I'll try to get some of the updates posted here. ~Phil

Well, I dropped the front end out to give it a "full prep". I knew the pivot bushings were toast, but holy shit, i picked a good time to dive in. The cross shaft in the front ARB was broke into 3 pieces. Luckily the ring gear kept the broken pieces from ejecting themselves from the carrier and...

Thanks! I'll get some more pics up. I also ordered some uniballs for the beam pivots. The rubber bushings are toast after that mojave road trip. Time for a full front end prep this weekend.

Overall the gearing is as good as it gets. I'm at ~2500rpms at 65mph which is good for about 15-16mpgs. This is with a 5 speed. With an automatic, I would go one step lower to 5.13s since the overdrive gear on the auto is higher than the manual. With the 35s and 4.88s it was just a little too...
