1980 toyota pick up new build

This is looking sick!!! I’m wondering about your shackle angle? Is is 90° when the wheels are off the ground, then when u drop it is tilts back like that? I’m just not sure what you are looking for when u mount front leaf springs. I’m currently doing my first sas and I’m not quite doing the...

Ok I see, but as far as bead profile for overhead and vertical is it normal for it to be a little more crowned up in the middle because of gravity?

Makes sense, but how am I able to tell if I got proper penetration if I’m going overhead am I just looking for a flat toe like I am doing on a flat surface? And what kind of pattern are you doing in the over head position?

    Welding help

Hey guys so while I’m getting ready to do my SAS I’ve been practicing my MiG welds, I felt like I had it dialed in decently while doing flat lap joints on 3/16 steel but as soon as I went to try some vertical and upside down welds I just kept getting saggy nut sacks :/ I understand that you...

    Toyota SAS from scratch

Little side project today! I don’t have a large sturdy bench space and I needed a vice for ya know vice stuff for the sas so I found this anvil / stand thing and I figured it would work and I could practice welding before I work on the truck. I used 3/16 for the mounting plate and some old...

Hell ya!! Really curious about the front shackles Is it shaped like that because you don’t want to move the front hanger to get a better shackle angle or for something else?
