Gentlemen,

Name's Craig, I'm from Yucaipa, CA. I like coors light and motorsports.

The past 8 or so years I have been spending less time participating on bikes/UTVs in the dunes and more time doing overnight desert runs and camping in desert Southern CA, Western AZ, and eastern sierras. I had a 1994 previously that built for that purpose, but recently made the unwise financial decision to sell and start over.

Starting a thread here to document building my new to me 1994 Bronco. Purpose would be largely the same, but planning on going bigger parts to let me go marginally faster at significantly higher costs.

Plans include keeping this a stock width caged and capable ride offroad and comfortable to drive on the freeway. i want to keep as much exterior and interior parts and appearance to stock.

It is currently with a builder in town and he is kicking ass. So far I have a few cleanup items knocked out (oil leak, remove a shitty alarm install, wire wheel the frame, remove ABS, Remove SMOG, etc). I have been spending a lot of my time begging shops to let me give them money for parts, but there has recently been some movement on that front.

Immediate work for this rig includes:
Southwest Performance (SWP) Stock Width Front End
SWP swing steering w/ straight tie rods and Ram Assist
New steering shaft
3.0 Front C/Os
2.0 Hydro bumps
Under Cab Rear Shock Mounts
Q80 Springs
3.0 4 Tube Bypasses
Sway Bar Kit
Ford 9" Rear End
4:88 Gears
Rear Disc Brake Conversion
Front Brake replacement
35" Tires
Shorty headers (current ones are cracked)
Full exhaust from headers back/ remove cats
Front skid plat and trimmed stock bumper
Tire Carrier Bumper (if I ever get it )
and a Badass rear window hatch deal

Mid-Term Plans:
Full Cab cage tied to shock towers. I really don't want to wait on this and start breaking the body.
Race Radio
Recliner bucket Seats and Matching Bench
Headliner, Carpet Kit, Sound Deadening
Misc Bolt-On Nonsense / paint and body touch up
Upgrade Radiator

Long Term Plans:
Rear 4-Link Kit, Mark Kiefer is working on something cool. Supposed to be out this year.
Build Engine and Trans.

So far the misc clean up/install is done and we are moving onto the big pieces.

Some of the smaller things that we could check off include the rear hangers and sway bar install, skid plate and bumper, and the rear window.

Rear window is really badass. My old ride was always a leaky, slow, heavy, noisy pain in the ass. Hoping I can eliminate all those problems with the hatch.

Curious on why you chose spring over rather than under or links from the get go? Looks like you're using very nice parts right off the start.

Mostly that I am out of money.... 💀 So this fits the budget now to get me in the dirt again. Should be able to get me back out there by beginning of February with what I have here.
Always happy to see another bronco around here 👍

What's the info on the rear window? I've been looking to do the same

Also interested on the info and where to get it

Awesome build and plans. Dig the window too. Best I've seen yet. Struggle with the rear roll up is real.

Vildosola's prep guy makes them. His name is steve lewis.

I had a friend get in touch with him and order one, so he ordered for me too. The only way i know to get in touch with him is on instagram. @bajachaser

Looks like @badlinesgoodtimes did a feature on his bronco at their shop

Really good looking setup and looks simple plus I’m surprised my back window hasn’t broke from the beating so might as well replace it before it happens I don’t have an instagram so I’ll have to figure that part out

Make an off-road y pipe and keep the stock one if you have to deal with smog that’s what I do for a better sounding ride
She's getting registered in the great free American state of ARIZONA. So the cats are hollowed out.....

Did you go larger diameter on your Y pipe? Maybe i just ditch this rusty trombone and get some fresh pipe in here

That brings up another point. I am going to need to ditch the stock airbox with the shock towers in the way now. Whats the consensus on the easiest way to get an airfilter in here. I really don't want a foam filter. A big donaldson would be nice.

I kept 2.5” pipe just for ease but do plan on a 3” setup when I dive into the motor more than just a cam and I use the k&n cold air kit with my solo shock towers no problem other than needing to make a support for the filter since removing the fender liner going with the extended beams
