whats the whole "led/AGM/acid" differences? Optima's are NO ACID, which is why they were supposed to be good in the case of a rollover, is what i understood/think i understood.

so what is the consensus that most are coming to? i don't know what a lot of the big words/phrases mean/are in this thread.........

sooooooooooo......... what's the conclusion seeming like??

Cliff notes....

go to Costco get a AGM battery.
Optima is a AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) style battery. Sealed. No need to add water.

Let that butterfly land on your head bud. <3

Fot the guys that have bad luck with Optima batteries, are you letting them sit with no trickle charger? I have 1 for the trailer 2014 date still good, charge it once per month

2 of mine were on a daily driver, and the other sat in the garage on a 2-amp trickle. I'm pretty sure this all happened right around the same time Interstate bought them out. I think QC went to shit.

The only issue I've ever had with AGM is PCM-controlled charging. Since converting to 1-wire, I never worry about batteries.

Walmart has a better warranty on AGM’s than Costco - I just bought an AGM for my wife’s truck from Costco not realizing the warranty is prorated and the Walmart warranty is a year longer and not prorated I think.

Just installed this 90AH Noco lithium battery in a bronco. Fridge, starlink and other misc accessories are powered off this battery. Has a Victron dc-dc charger for charging and a 200amp solenoid on a toggle switch on the dash to jump start from this battery if needed.
nice!

how much, and where'd you get it??

When I think of Lithium batteries, I think of larger power storage capacity and run-away fires when punctured. Are fires lower issue with automotive lithium batteries? I don't want something with a potential for rapid energy release near my fuel cell..

I bought my last battery, for the truck I sold, at Walmart because their warranty was 4 years. Which, in Arizona is pretty good

My goal for it is 2 fold.
1. they are smart batteries and can shut off when they hit 25% and still be able to start a vehicle.
2. they are small... due to my packaging i run really small batteries, and they dont seem to last that great... mostly because the issue above.

What size was it? I’m having a pretty hard time finding a 34 AGM on their website. Rather save a trip or long wait on the phone by finding the part number and checking to see if it’s in the inventory at the nearby locations or just order one online.

The same problems will happen if a lithium car battery is punctured, gets salt water in contact with the layers of the battery, etc. as any other lithium battery large or small.
