WASTED WAGES 89 DODGE W150

Got the truck cleaned up. Put about 50 miles on it over the weekend. Drives much better but is still a bouncy bitch. I’m going to probably take a leaf or 2 out of the front and pull the overload out of the rear to see if that will change things. I also think it may have way too much caster after I put the extended shackles on over 10 years ago. Found out this morning that the heater isn’t working. There is an inline valve on the heater core hose that I think is bad. Overall I m happy with it. My son’s first day back to school was this morning, dropping him off he was so stoked cause all his friends we smiling and waving as we pulled up lol.

Looks so much more proper with the new wheel and tire setup. Have you chalked the tires to find true proper pressure. No use driving it around at 50 if it only needs 30 to wear correctly.
How much caster does it have with the long shackles and adjustment wedge? I think 5-8 is typically a good rule of thumb for straight axles. At least your wedge is in the right way. when I was a dumb ass kid I thought it was pinion angle adjustment. :ROFLMAO:

It was so long ago but i believe i put 6 degree shims in there. I havent hung alighnment gauges to actually check it, yet. I did a tape measure tow check and that was it. It also has memory steer but i think that is due to the brand new Red Head Steering gear and ball joints. I'll put some miles on it to see if it will loosen up. i set psi to 32. It was much better.

What brand Balljoints?
Ive seen one out of maybe 10 Redhead Boxes we have installed at our shop have memory steer out of the box. I think they recommended a 500 mile break in, and if it persists they will give you an amount to spin the preload adjuster out to maintain your warranty.

Moog everything. Ball joints, tie rods, drag link.

Ive sold probably 50 redheads through my work, and i feel they are getting worse and worse each time. Im on my second gear myself. I have customers who are on 3 or 4 before they were finally right. Great customer service though which is what keeps us going back.

Sounds like you have more experience with Redhead than us. Its our one and only choice for upgraded boxes at this point.
Ive seen Moog have the same decline you’re describing. If it persists id check the rotation of the knuckle with steering disconnected, to see if its the BJs. Id put my money there.
