What’s up guys, figure I’d post up my WJ that I’ve been building for the last 4-5 years or so. Current specs are

Drive train:

4.7/545rfe, 231HD T-case with SYE

09 super duty axles (HP D60/Sterling 10.5) with TMR trusses.

Currently still in 3.73’s with stock limited slip rear and TORQ locker front. Plan on re-gearing to 5.38’s with a grizzly locker out back and the TORQ in the front.

Tom Woods front and rear driveshafts (1310 Tcase side, 1350 axle side)

Front suspension:

Modified Rock Krawler 3 link

fox 2.5x12’s

Carbon 2.0x2” threaded bumps

Clayton dual rate springs

Xerofab adjustable coil buckets

Rear suspension:

Fox 2.0x12’s (plan on upgrading to 14” bypasses in the future)

Triangulated 4 link

Clayton springs

Steering:

Redhead ported box (waiting on ram and line for assist)

TMR high steer arms

1.5x.250 wall tie rod, drag link and panhard with 7/8 heims

Armor:

Dtill DIY stubby front bumper with badlands 12k winch

Custom fabbed rear bumper with swingout

Custom sliders

(hybrid cage to come with interior b and c pillars, exo a pillar and runners).

Car is setup to be an all around wheeler/desert runner. It’s currently on 37’s but has plenty of clearance to fit 40’s down the road once it’s been re-geared.

Original coil buckets were not strong enough to withstand the abuse of an air bump. Scrapped them and made a “double shear” bucket that will hopefully hold up. So far it’s held up to the abuse I’ve thrown at it.

Added some support tubes and plated the rear portion.

I plan on throwing a dimple died plate across the two top plates for aesthetic reasons.

Mounted up some Baja designs S1 flush mounts in the front bumper. Should work well in the rocks. I Have a pair of squadrons that will go on the a pillars once the cage gets started.

Only took a little persuasion with a BFH to get these 40’s to clear.

wow! You didn't need to cut much into the firewall for them to clear? is the front end pushed forward at all?

No cutting of the firewall. Had to cut and fold the pinch welds and beat in the firewall about 1/2”. The front and rear are pushed out about 2”. The rear fender well is cut and reshaped. Took about 4” off all the way around it.

My track bar mount tried to delete itself last weekend.

New coil bucket with integrated track bar mount and some more plating in the unibody should fix my issues 🤘🏻

Coil buckets/track bar mount are done. Also threw in IRO 8” coils in the front which have a #50 heavier rate than the springs they are replacing. So far the added spring rate has been a night and day difference in handling both on and offroad.

Quick test trip to ocotillo/truck haven was a success. Jeep worked well and drove home without any issues. Doing 5.38’s and lockers this weekend as well as new unit bearings up front and rear wheel bearings. Hoping to get going on a cage and coilovers here soon.

Mounted a JK antirock up front and made some spring sliders with a tender to keep the coil from unseating. Night and day difference in handling after adding the sway.
