Toyota Pickup (old Koenig racing truck)

This truck is awesome. I remember seeing it race back in the day.

Also great info on the wilwood and yota caliper bolt pattern. I've always told people yota 4 piston calipers are budget steel wilwood's and this solidify's the fact even more.

Also a side note, I don't know what hubs Mike used, but if you want to make the truck a little narrower you can use Toyota straight axle front hubs on the IFS knuckles and I think its like 3/4" to an inch narrower per side.

Another side note, the 2-bolt pattern for the caliper on those knuckles is identical to a Wilwood caliper. That's what we put on our truck, we just had to make spacers that welded onto the knuckle to get the caliper to be centered over the rotor.

@Camper shell fun is the bolt pattern for the calipers the same on a standard 4x4 knuckle? i was under the impression the gen 3 kit knuckles were just modified 4x4 knuckles?

I’m thinking about switching to 37” Tensors from the Goodyear 35”x12.5”. Any thoughts?

only thought is they will be like 4" taller than the 35" MTR's since those only measure like 33.5" tall on a good day when new

Not true in my findings. The 35” MTR race tires are bigger diameter than the general red labels I had before. Pretty sure it’s a true 35” tire.

My new 35” MTR spares seem to be around the 34” mark. Good call on the height increase. I’ll probably need to lower ride height being this thing rides tall in the current setup. Down south serviced all the shocks for the last owner but not sure if they worked on ride height at all

Measured my nearly bald MTR that’s still mounted today. Also 34-34.25”. Probably was nearly or right on 35” when new. My narrow (15x7 I think) wheels probably make them a little taller than a wide wheel.
