Hey Guys,

Didnt see a thread on this yet. Post up your tow rigs!- Motor homes/ Toterhomes, Semis, diesel trucks! What are you guys using to haul your offroad toys to and from the desert?

I’ve got two! Primary is the ole crew cab lbz duramax. Pretty much my dream truck

Second is a 04 2500 6.0 gasser with service bed. It’s my work truck but makes for a great chase truck. I should have a big 400 Miller in it in the next month or so thanks to my employer!

2003 1500HD. Chevy made them for a few years. 8 lug running gear, SF rear end but the same 6.0/4L80E as the 2500 trucks.

I got it bone stock with 110k miles on it. It got a cam/headers/exhaust/intake and matching tune. Drives like a different truck now and actually has power. Downside is 10MPG on a good day. Pulls my little Tacoma and the family’s Lance travel trailer just fine.

Nice truck dude. Those 1500hd trucks are super underrated. They can still be had for great prices and will forsure last a long long time!

2003 Ford F350 6.0L Diesel Crew Cab Long Bed. She has 210k miles on here and tow's my set up great. (might be for sale soon...)

Most say terrible things about these trucks but I purchased it from a friend (@vcyota92 ) who I believe had it from brand new in the family.. Trucks never had a tune and an EGR delete early on. So far the only thing I've had to do on the truck was new injectors around 160k.

They’re definitely not all bad. I’ve said this drunk around a camp fire 😂 but I’ll say it here sober I’d personally rather have a 6.0 than a 7.3.

Thanks, they are definitely overlooked a lot. The motor upgrades was worth every penny, it’s still a gasser and needs some RPM on hills, but has WAY more power now.

Big GMT800 guy over here. The Chevys are mine grey 2005, white 2006. Mostly regular maintenance, some self inflicted major repairs lol
I love the GMT800 trucks! I really wanted a diesel when I was shopping for mine. I was too cheap to spend the money for a truck that sits in my driveway 90% of the time and only tows a few times a year. I got the gasser for less than half of what people wanted for the same vintage diesel but with double the miles.

i love the work truck!

I got over trailers and a big street truck I never use to the fullest. Now, I tow-bar with the RV or a small street truck. Tows way better and don't break the pre-runner in half, like when I was a kid. So much easier this way!

For big camping trips, we love our Thor ACE 27.2. It's a 2017 and the V10 + whatever new tranny they put in these things gets it good.

Trips that don't take an RV, our Tundra kicks ass, buuu...

That truck is going to a new home and we're going to see what happens towing with this.

Maiden voyage is next weekend from central California down to Borrego Springs. Planning to slap a weight distribution hitch on the whole setup to hopefully level everything out.

I have bounced around with toy haulers, lance campers, etc. I am currently in a Monaco and a 20' pj flat bed with drive over fenders. Very hard to meet all the requirements with out this set up.. Towing capacity 10K or more, water capacity 100 gallons or so, etc.. I like my set up, but need an aluma deceiver trailer to stick as close to 10K as possible. Firewood, fuel, truck, etc adds up quickly. We have 5 dogs.. yes 5.. fucking 5.. lol its hard to travel with them, but 40' helps lol.. I had my set up dialed with the enclose trailer and sand cars ,but a pre runner and enclosed trailer doesn't work, so I will creep on this thread to improve on tool storage, fire wood transport, fuel can locations, etc.

I also have a 7.3L dually that I use to tow my junk around when not using the motorhome. Need to upgrade soon, but it gets the job done. Looking for pictures made me realize I don't have many of my set up..
