Even though I wasn't the one to build this up, I figured I could document what we are doing to it as well as our trips out. I was looking for a toy that was ready to wheel and i could beat on without feeling real bad about. I watched this on FB marketplace for over a month before pulling the trigger. Made the 5 hr drive and was stoked. Get it home and do some closer investigations and see things aren't how I would like them and maintenance was severely neglected. Took it straight to sand hollow and broke it. My niece named it. She told me it looked like a trash can that I was bashing on, hence bash can.

Started with just usual maintenance items and got it "trail worthy" again. For the first like 8 trips it saw out to sand hollow(literally my backyard, so we are there every weekend), something broke. From timing guides, cracked tcase, motor mounts, steering, heims, etc. It became real frustarting and I listed it for sale. After a month, the wife gave me the motivation to get back to it and get it dialed as close to how I would build it and want it as possible. Slapped some prp seats and harnesses in it, new solid engine and t case mounts, fixed some leaks it had(p.s. it still leaks), and took the kids out to play in it finally. Still not really happy with it, but overtime I'm sure it'll continue to grow on me.

Here is what is done by previous owner

Fox 14 2.0 coil overs up front
bilstein smooth bodies rear
Toyota front axle
six shooter knuckles
psc ram assist
lunchbox lockers
HP front diff
TG clone 3 link front
chevy 63s
Battleborn bead locks
37" coopers
TG doubler with 4.7 low
TG t case skid
front bumper with smitty 12k winch
custom rear cage
lce headers
low range rad
Corbeau seats/harnesses

What I've done so far
lce timing kit
skys hardcore solid motor and t case mounts
tons of maintenence
prp seats/harnesses
Bimini top

Plans are to just get drivability dialed and maybe some reliability so we can actually drive it down the road more than 10 mins. Fab work that was done previously I'm sure will get fixed/done my way as I break things. Want to bed line the interior, exo cage over the cab, new rear cage to maximize room, aluminum side panels and close the wheel wells back in. of course, also spend as much time as we can behind the wheel of it.

Not really sure what the plan with this thread will be. Plans are to wheel, get the wife comfortable crawling and get the kids an introduction to driving offroad. Maybe ill decide to keep it instead of building my explorer. 🤷‍♂️c0b2b72f-8024-414c-9c97-32de0f35f623-1_all_781.jpg20240714_120632.jpg20240908_155340.jpg20240914_160236.jpg20240218_142647.jpg20240825_193703.jpg20240914_160903.jpg20240905_181119.jpg20240908_155324.jpgSnapchat-1460895082.jpg

hell yea! nice ride! once you work through the bugs this thing is going to be a pretty solid family wheeler. I like the bench in the back for the kids.
Sand hollow is a pretty bad as zone to have in your backyard.

You know @Chuck.Converse ( IG) he's out there in Hurricane?

It's turning out to be pretty fun. Went all week for trail hero without any issues. Was having so much fun forgot to get any pics really.

I've hung out with Chuck randomly before. Pretty good guy!
