Sno Commandos – Recruiting Fresh Snow Addicts
I’m looking to put together a little crew of folks who want to go snow-wheeling in the San Bernardino Mountains — my backyard. I’ve been playing in the white stuff up here for about 15 years now, but a lot of my old riding buddies have moved away, sold their rigs, or decided to become boring adults. So here we are.
We’d most likely start around the Lake Silverwood area — mostly because it’s the easiest spot for flatlanders to reach when the weather is trash, and because as you climb the snow gets deeper, which gives anyone struggling an easy bail-out point. No shame in tapping out early; we’ve all been there.
Why I snow-wheel:
I like to hotshot it. I know the trails up here, but the real magic depends entirely on the storm. I’m all about the freshies. The dream is to have a small group of people who are down to message each other when a system rolls in so we can sync up and hit it while it’s mint.
If you’re interested, post up what you drive and your experience level.
Ground rules (a very short list):
If you want in on the Sno Commandos, drop a reply. Fresh snow waits for no one.

Ground rules (a very short list):
- No 2WD. (Love you, but no.)
- Be honest about the condition of your ride.
- Bring the basics: shovel, winter gear, tow strap, common sense.
- And have a plan for what happens if your rig decides it wants to take a permanent nap in the snow.
If you want in on the Sno Commandos, drop a reply. Fresh snow waits for no one.
