Im posting this thread for a buddy even though it now appears I just work on diesel garbage now 🙃 😂 he bought the truck a 1986 f250 xl 420ci 6 9 IDI diesel about a year ago now but he got it for 500 dollars from a neighbor but after figuring out he can make it decent with the beams and him having a blast driving it we figured out a suspension package based on the rear shackles and spring from solo, fox raptor gen 1 rears and king 2.5 x12 coilovers withe desolate radius arms. We just got done with the rear suspension and a 38 gal fuek tank swap and new brakes.

FUCKING LOVE IT! SUBSRCRIBED!

They don’t get anywhere in a hurry but those IDI diesels are solid

I had like an 85ish InDirectMAWMjection that was totally stock and it was a TUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRDDDDDDDDDDDD that could barely get out of it's own way. hah. i didnt trust it getting on any freeway on ramp unless i had a few hours to spare. haha. i knew it always eventually would, but fuuuuucccckkkkkkk

Oh forgot to mention he's fully on board with it being a farm truck so it now has a 1100lb vevor crane that I cut down and put a backing plate on the bottom of the bed. And finally just got the bed back on and now we start on the front

Also did end up starting on the front by just tearing everything down and just a basic clean up still waiting on the pivot bushings to show up tomorrow but in the meantime Time im going to start doing the fuel pump and e fuel conversion along with the coolant filter and cleaning up this rats nest. Oh and farm truck bushings from god knows when was doing great but a swap for fk rod ends is a must hahaha. (Contains random Honda cv axle nut,a koto bearing and some tie rod ends boot from the looks of it)

Update this week didnt go as planned mainly as ive never cut and turned i forged beams before and definitely second guessing alot of stuff but I got over it and just sent it. Ended up taking .300 out at the top and it was not enough for the camber change I cut through most with a grinder and a sawzall. The first cut yielded 3.2* of change on the beam. Install showed that 3* was not nearly enough so I pulled them and did like 1/8 which gave me roughly 1.3* more reinstall and I have -4* of camber. So I will end up taking another 1/4 or until I get1-2* of positiv camber. After that got the new radius arm brackets in and new hardware then moved onto radius arm mounts to beams which still need some plating and to be fully welded. The caster was set to 7 degrees as people I talked to said anywhere from 5-15 of caster is acceptable. Then moved onto the shock mounts which were kinda thrown together. 1.5 .120 wall dom for the main structure with 1" .095 wall 4130 runners. Will be putting a cross brace from 1.5" .095 dom after full welding. Gonna end up having to move the fuel filter housing bracket off the alternator bracket and onto the crossbar. That's where we are at hoping to get in on its weight tonight or tomorrow
