Off road industry drama

Also from what I know Carlos at Camburg is super cool too (although I've never really interacted with him in person I don't think). Funny side note, Jason is actually going to be buying a Total Chaos long travel kit for his early 90s Toyota 2wd pickup. The same kit Elliot has.

Scott and Carlos are why Camburg is what it is to us normal people. Scott is one of my best friends
couldnt agree with this more... i loved when Steve use to work there too. I spent alot of time there... Scott and Carlos have gone above and beyond to help, and they are not Jerry at all. They are great people. I have to give it to jerry, he is a great business man... has built a great company. Just dont like his personality and dont trust him.

I’ve found that a lot of times, in dealings I’ve had (not off-road specifically), high level business owners and executives are all pretty unlikable as people. Not to say there aren’t exceptions, but speaking in generalities. You almost have to be a narcissistic and sociopath to do well in that world.

Nick Gardener who works at dirt king is on here, I don’t believe Nick whose part owner of dirt king with his brother is on here. But regardless dirt king makes quality stuff and every single person at that company is involved in the off-road industry on a personal basis. Having a well stocked store front near by is awesome too, I’m sure the downsouth partnership will be nothing but great things.

Camburg, i spent $20k and get absolute dog shit service from Corry and missing parts. My front race hubs need wheel spacers. We were thiiiis close to plating over the C on the rear end lol

Admittedly I'm a bit bitter towards Dirt King as they have done some things I don't necessarily agree with. One of which is they bought "totalchaosfabrication.com" from Jerry (who bought it in 1997 before TC started a website, hence why our site is chaosfab.com) and used it as a redirect so when people typed it in it would take you to Dirt Kings website, I just personally think that is a shitty thing to do. They have done that same thing with Deaver, FK bearings and others. I have no problems with any individual there, I am sure most of them are good people, I just disagree with those business ethics. I also don't like when Companies brag about being "All American" yet they import from China. I'm not saying they don't make a majority of stuff here, just that importer history is available to the public and I think a lot of customers would be surprised and disappointed if they knew how many companies (not just DK) receive containers from China. https://www.importgenius.com/importers/dirt-king-fabrication

You must not follow Robby Woods.
That's funny, because I didn't know who he even was until a couple years ago and holy hell, what a follow. There is an incredible amount of mental insecurity there. Like a lot of fabricators in this industry, he's VERY talented, but HAS to let everyone know about it. I will never understand being that braggadocios.

that is interesting... i know rugged radios did that to PCI years ago when the site lapsed... to me that isnt good business and really makes for shitty business dealings. I dont like supporting companies with those types of business tactics.

I’m rarely one to defend “the big guys” on the block but I have to admit dirt king makes themselves pretty undeniable when you deal with them. Ive dealt with them many times on my own builds and on others. If there’s even the slightest issue they are beyond on top of fixing it even if it requires overnight shipping. Their parts with all the kits I’ve installed, bolt on and race kits, all fit like nothing else on the market, packaged perfectly with labeled bags.

Today when the “industry standard” now seems you can spend the same price if not more elsewhere, wait 6 months on the 6 week timeline you were told, to then get your parts off the shop floor and a cardboard box of disorganized bolts and misalignments, then when you have issues get completely ignored.

I’m sure you’re totally right. I’ve heard the same thing from a lot of their customers.
