Been bringing this old 88 samurai back to life and figured I’d share.
Little background for you guys. My dad built an 88 samurai in the late 90’s/early 2000’s that I grew up wrenching on and driving. He sold it around 07. I found the current owner about 5 years ago but unfortunately have been unable to convince him to sell it.
About a year ago, I picked up another 88 samurai that was wheeled hard and pretty hammered. It had a 8v 1.6 EFI CARB legal swap done by Petroworks, GSR 2 transfer case, 5.38’s in the axles, lockers and a shit ton of body damage.
Initial goal was to clean it up and replicate the samurai that my dad built when I was a kid.
Eventually I plan on swapping in some j10 d44’s I have, linking it front and rear, and extending the wheelbase to 95-100”.
