First off I need to thank @the_fablab_ for inviting my son out with their group for Halloween. We only went for the day while they were out there all weekend.
This was pretty much my kids first trip with non family members since he's been building the Ranger. Usually when its family, its just him in the Ranger and then some of those golf cart thingy's and bikes/quads. Was so nice to be with all off road rigs this time.

Secondly I need to give a shoutout to Tommy's TT Motorsports @85Yota parents. Have you ever met someone for the first time and you just connect with them and you can just talk with them for hours. Well this is Tommy's parents. Absolutely the best. I probably talked with Tommy's mom and dad more than anyone else in camp that day.

And thirdly. Its so nice having some luxury things out in the desert. I'm all about using what you have. If its a stock truck then enjoy it. As long as you're out there having fun and not leaving the desert a mess. So what I mean by having the right stuff. One was the flat bed trailer. First trip taking the Ranger on a trailer to the desert. So nice knowing you don't have to crawl into this thing, get harnessed up and drive 2 hours back in it. And then this was our first time using the Rugged Radios. The intercom between person to person was so nice. No yelling and it does quiet down the clicking of the bypasses. And then to Bluetooth the radio through the headsets was a plus.

As for the Cal City itself. It is wasted from the rains they got at the beginning of the month. Roads are completely washed out. Sand or rocks everywhere. Once what were dirt trails turned into mini sand washes. Seems like it washed way the dirt. Also there is massive ruts and trenches that come up on you out of no where. I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot of injuries this season out there.

Here is some pics of Rutgers road. This would be the road you take to get to the green tire camp area.

My kid set up a Starlink mini to the ranger. The magnetic mount held great. And was nice to get service anywhere. Will be buying a longer cable so we can mount the Starlink more in the center of the roof.

Made it to Boron. Fun run but uneventful. Only thing was our group got split. Some went to the Borax mine visitor center first and some of us went to the lunch spot first.

After lunch we walked over to the park to check out the Boron park. Most parks have a swing sets and play grounds. Boron has a dump truck and an old fire truck. That's ok with me. .

Some how, half way into our return trip we all managed to run into the rest of our group that got split off from us un the beginning.
Everyone was headed back to camp. When we got close to camp, we let them know that my kid and I were going to branch off and go explore some on our own.
Some random pics.
