This week was a lil 9 miler through Dos Vientos.

Ended up with a nice size group of about 10 riders.

Only carnage to repair
Danny blew up a chain on the first climb so close to the car he just called it a day and MaddChadd ended up with a loose rear rotor on a bike he is borrowing from a buddy CaliforniaMTB. each torx bolt was like 5 turns loose! Quick fix back down the trail.

Ya, I don't know I just work here....

Route was fairly XC. but always a good time out there. Everyone made it back to the lot for some sport sodas.....

Hopefully I'll be ready to join you guys next week. Just ordered a new seat for it and need to get a helmet. I'm sure I'll suffer on the climbs, but I can't wait for the downhills!

Took Zero photos last night as I was working on not dying at the top of the climbs.
Was a bit of a Skelton Crew last night. We laid down some miles and almost didn't even need any lights.
Parking lot sport sodas were cold and plentiful

Next week a few of us will be out in Prescott for the Whiskey off-road...

yes that would have been a rough first ride... Sycamore is always an ass-kicker. I'll plan for a short mellow loop week after next maybe start at Pedals and Pints Do Space Mtn in Newbury

I've done spacemountain before. I'd be down to try something else. Or spacemountain is good, too lol. I'm riding somewhere in westlake tomorrow morning with a buddy.

Last Thursday was another one for the books.

Hit a fresh trail with some fun features.

We finished up the ride.. and planned to head to Cronies for beers and food. On the way over there, we spotted a gentleman in distress Crew cab frontier, dead in the water.. Dude was out solo trying to push it out of the road. We pulled off, luckily Juan had a tow strap. Need to add one into the trusty shit box.

@the_fablab_ and Juan hooked up the strap to the bumper as the guy just kinda watched with big eyes. @the_fablab_ asks him if hes ever been flat towed before and he says no kinda uneasy. So like tells him look if its cool with you I'll drive your truck and you ride in the 4runner. Dude is like yea, yea that sounds good! So the guy hops in with me and we take off towing him back to his house that was just up the street maybe a 1/2 mile or so. The guy started asking so you guys do this alot? haha I laugh and tell him yea we have done this a time or 2.

we got to his house. Unhooked the strap and helped him and his dad push the truck into their driveway. They were super appreciative they must have thanked us 8 times, we all shook hands, the Dad gave Mikey a hug.. haha just people helping people...

We loaded up and headed to meet the rest of the boys at Cronies. Just another Thursday.

Last Thursday we hit up Sawpi Bike Park... a little bit of a change on the pace and gives everyone a chance to bring the kids and significant others out. had the grill going with al pastor, chicken, carne asada taco..... probably cooked up 10 lbs of meat. Good times were had by all..

I missed the ride last week so no shats from that one..but last night was another rocky peak bender... 10 miler with 7 of us

Ward's Cut was nice and overgrown... but always a good time.

We had 7 to start One dude (Justin?) had to turn around to close a big deal for work.

We pushed on with 6 of us.

Last night's ride was another one for the books..Lets call it " Rusty Chivo "

Where : started in Simi at the Las Llajas Trailhead
ended up just under 10 miles

We had a bit of a skeleton crew only ended up being 4 of us. @the_fablab_ @chadness Devon and I

Started out doing a little fun single track DH called Zoltan's in the first 5 mins of the ride @the_fablab_ overcooked a corner and had an off-bike experience. He popped like nothing happen and we kept going. At the bottom of that trail, there is a little rock sender that's maybe 2 ft high that I somehow managed to awkwardly dead sailor while simultaneously having my right foot come unclipped. I put my foot down as I land and feel my pedal slam into the back of my leg ... off to a great start! We proceed to a little jump line and messed around there for a few.

We head out of there and hit the trail back toward Las Llajas (which is a mellow fire road climb) to hit the Rusty tractor connector (Single track climb) . We are all just chatting it up when we hear a large truck coming up behind us... We decided that we didn't want to be dusted out behind said truck on the climb so we all dropped the hammer and pinned it. Was a bit of a Twisted Metal and Terminator 2 vibe the rest of the way up up to our cut off.

Took a little breather at the bottom of the connector. Nice and exposed, soft and loose.

We made the haul all the way up to Rusty tractor which after a quick google search was part of the Coquina Mining Operation from 1925-1935
Road to bring down apparently was washed out so they just left it up there.... https://www.secretmines.com/p/coquina-mine.html

We headed out back down same trail.

Dropped in to Chivo... What a great downhill super fast and flowy.. Headed out back to the trucks. There were 2 or 3 tar pits off to the side of the trail.
