I recently traded a blown up I6 manual 90 bronco for this little beast and a 98 dodge neon roundy round car. I have honestly fallen in love with it. It is just so much fun for what it is. All i have done to it so far is throw tires at it and rewire it because it was a pile of nightmare 80 ford efi bs. That being said i am not the most familiar with ttb, especially the smaller d28/d35 TTB. i had an idea to put some full width d44 ttb on this little death trap but after some google searching it does not seem like a bolt in deal. my plan is to use some of the parts i have laying around to make this a great little trail truck that is street able, hauls ass in the dirt and does everything my old stock cj7 did. i have a set of bastardized 2.5 x 12 kings with adjustable ads resis, gen 1 raptor rear shocks, on them that i would like to use. The AA adapter to put a 302 in this thing is only $170 and i just happen to have a brand new one in my cougar that id like to LS swap someday. i have pretty capable fab skills, just looking for some input on the best way to build out the front end.

My question is it even worth it to swap to d44 beam? does a d35 or d44 3rd fit in the d28 beams. i like the fact that this thing is small and nimble so id like to keep it like that. i would like to gear it pretty low since that will help save the transmission and transfer case. its on 33s. If a 5.13 even exists for a dana 28 its going to have like 3 pinion teeth lol. i don't know how wide it would be using stock axle shafts. or if there's another axle shaft i can use and retain a smaller track width. I did not build this thing it is kinda jank but i will slowly be fixing that. THANKS

Dana35 TTB with D44 knuckles out is pretty durable and is pretty easy to accomplish. It also keeps a narrow track width.

Gofastexplorers.com makes a d35 to D44 conversion bracket kit. Not sure if it works with B2 frames?? Call Travis at GFE and ask him… 6198382938
