96 Ranger, Highschool Special

Howdy,
Started a build thread for my bronco in 2011 on Gofastbroncos. Time to start one for the kids Ranger.

When I started my bronco it was very purpose built prerunner/chase truck. For the sons Ranger the goal is to keep it budget, relaibe and fully functional as a truck to go to and from school, desert, groceries... whatever. The start....

The goal.....

Luck for us in a sport where everyone is constantly upgrading used parts are plentiful.

The GFB forum was a great source of info for building my bronco. Hoping to find the same support here.

So far we have scored most the parts.
I actually bought a Giant 64 kit off FB market just for an extra set for my bronco a while back....not expecting to be building a rmager anytime soon. Been really happy with the performance on the bronco. Snagged a explorer 8.8, 16" king smoothies, and some well used glass. The boys labor is cheaper than new parts so he is learning some glass ans bondo work.

For the front we scored some old extended beams, radius arms and giant engine cage. It was a score and gave me a great excuse to upgrade my front coilovers and sell the boy the 2.5 kings on the bronco.

Scored some 35x10.5 tensors for way to cheap. Also traded an old winch for some PRP seats.

In the spirit of the high-school special, really trying to save $$$ by keep it simple finding deals but still perform decent and be reliable. We are keeping the bed. Stock dash etc but will include a complete cage a-pillar back.

I have a giant 64" leaf spring weld on hanger kit brand new i was goignt ouse that i didnt. its not the bolt on ranger spcific kit but if learning to fab it shoudl be a straight forward install. check out ythe thread below for soempictures. price referenced isnt what i need. i think i have it on FB marketplace for $750 but would entertain other offers.
