I’m fairly new to forums because every time I get onto one of these, I go down a rabbit hole and my mind floods with ideas. The 4Runner build I’m currently working on is a 2007 Toyota 4Runner SR5, V6 with 4WD. Definitely a rabbithole project build. Done a little engine work to her. Just got back from Fullerton where I had her wired by Greg. Still kicking the idea of a 4.7 v8 swap and beaming her. Anyone wanna jump in?

I should also mention that I'm an east coaster that moved to the west coast about 5 years ago. Wheeling in the east is different, only ever saw dirt when I was with my pops in his 86 yota pickup. I frequent CA, AZ, and NV. Most of my homies that wheel are out in the coachella valley and i'm sure i've seen quite a few of you in passing. I work a ton so when I get the chance to go wheeling, i jump at it. Lookin for new homies to wheel with and/or just knock back a few road sodas

Welcome dude! Nice ride! There are a few members out in Phx area.

V8 and beams would be rad... my vote it keep it simple and in the dirt as much as possible!

I can't think of any 4runners that have TTB now that you mention it.

I've seen a few tacos that have TTB, but only a hand full. I try to get out to the dirt as much as possible, its tougher in the summer since its so damn hot outside no matter where you go wheelin in arizona. When I'm in Cali, I usually frequent north shore out by the salton sea, JTNP, Burns Canyon, and the mountains behind SD/Temecula.
Appreciate the kind words!

Ya we've got a few buddies with tacomas VPracing and Flaunt Dont think they have joined up yet.

@Adventure Endeavor with his TTB wagoneer and then @the bodj with his S10

You should TTB your 4runner

Salton Sea is always a good time I like Slab city Bradshaw trail is in that zone too.

We got a trip in Sept going up to Flagstaff... you should cruise out!

I'm always game for a trip up to flag, i just know very few people out here since I've only lived in phx for bout a year now. Yall have ig?

I've done bradshaw trail once and it was pretty rad, did it as a scouter for a bigger group in socal.

TTB is the goal for the runner, just need to raise the funds over time.

Well I don't really know anyone in Phx that has a garage, I dont have one to work in lol. I wish i did, but i also dont have the tools required to start chopping. If this was socal, itd be a different story. I'm only 27, all my family lives in virginia, so i live in an apartment and the property manager wouldnt be too keen on a parted out explorer sitting in the lot chopped to pieces. Working on getting a spot with some buddies, but thats months down the line

Pshhh funds don’t need to be raised. Get yourself a $600 1993 Ford explorer and get chopping
Any recommendations for an engine swap? I've been hastily looking over at other forums about the v6 -> v8 yota swap and no one really has had a good time with it. Just looking for suggestions and feedback. I'd be able to rebuild/build an engine, slowly, in my living room so long that it lives on a cherry picker lol

In my opinion, you'd be better off and much easier just buying a V8 4Runner. Engine swaps are not easy; especially with newer vehicles.
