This started life as a pretty bone stock Traxxas TRX4M Defender.
I had fun with it in it's stock form for about a year, but I kept seeing more hardcore builds and my creative juices started flowing. I made a build sheet and slowly started ordering parts when they went on sale. I tried to keep it budget friendly, so I'm still rocking the stock motor and transmission, stock axle housings and links.
Soon I had a pretty big pile of parts in a cardboard box and it was time to assemble
Stock Chassis after a year of abuse
That new new
Those are just about the only pics I took during the build. I started off trying to document the build process but working on 1/18th scale RC drives me crazy lol, everything is so small. So I put the phone down and just built it.
Finally out in the light
I actually just finished mounting the body today, haven't even put it through its paces yet. But I am excited to start crawling and experimenting. I've never run a crawler with no springs before so we will have to see how it performs
Here's the parts list in case anyone is curious
