I called Solo - they do their own set at 350 lbs/in ($280), they said I might have binding issues and to check for metal shavings as I have a uniball for the beams - also going to check that my shocks are a 5523 (the soft valve bilstiens). If I don't see anything, I'm going to pull the spring...

This is amazing - thank you! I think I'm going to probably go with bds. Ill probably swap the shocks over to foxes while I'm at it. I might also give solo/desolate a call and see if they might have any insight - if they do I'll report back here.

They are awful, I cannot see how they would preform better on trails - my truck is a 5.0, maybe that spring rate for a diesel makes sense, but they don't seem to be settling in well either, although it hasn't been a lot of time.

Solid downgrade from my lx470 - the skyjacker springs that came with the threat kit in the front are terrible (sprung way too high) and the 5100s seem to be better on fast hits than slow, but I'm going to drive it for a while before I start messing with it again. It definitely needs a new...

I have a truck that is sitting on 4 wheels again! I did have to drop the gas tank, but forgot to detach the filler neck/drain the tank so the tank dumped a bunch of fuel into my parents yard - but it totally missed the garden so they didn't care. Took that opportunity to replace the old filler...

Funny, that is usually what I do (I try to make more than two cuts in the rivet), maybe I need to hit the weights bc that usually takes me at least 10-20min each rivet, including getting out of the frame. Maybe my chisel needs to be sharpened?

I FORGOT HOW MUCH I HATE RIVETS - 8 rivets fought me for 3 hours today, I dont have access to a oxy torch and it probably would not have been a good idea to use it there anyway as the gas tank is right behind the frame in that spot Last week I had to sawzall the leafs out as the sleeves had...

Feels good - the front is tied up minus filling the diff, redoing the diff vent line, and hopefully just topping off the power steering - hoping the rear doesn't fight me too bad! I have the camber bushings set at max negative camber and set the toe even. My camber looks real wonky now, but will...

Front is pretty much done with bolts tightened - VERY glad the brake lines went smoothly. They are in decent shape but needed some heat to free them up. I ordered the wrong tie rod from moog and may have blown out my power steering pump when I was centering the wheel.... Hoping its just leaking...

Finally got almost everything bolted up to the front. Needed to order some high lift jackstands to relocate the current 6 tons ones so that I can drill the holes for the radius arm mounts. After I match the factory wheelbase (139in for my truck), I'll pull the springs and cycle everything...

Need to turn down the bushings for the TTBs.... Took some measurements today with calipers and will be going to my godfathers tomorrow to throw them on his lathe. Tried to take a grinder to them but they need to be knocked down quite a bit. My measurement for the pumpkin ttb was 146.5mm and...

Thank you! As the new radius arms don't fit perfectly I'm assuming there is some compliance (the mounting ears of the beam will flex to fit the ttb)?

Made some more progress on setting bearings/seals/ball joints, test fitting and generally getting things back together. I may have spoke too soon about the lack of rust on the truck as the coil buckets had their coating peeling off. I checked the frame behind them and everything is solid so I...

Taking a couple days to prep and paint all the big stuff - got everything but the beams done today, which I will hit tomorrow. Using seymor stainless, which I saw someone here call seemore butts (the name I'm using now). Bolts are in as well, so hoping I can have the front end back together...

Way more of the 4wheeling, but there is some go fast stuff if you know where to look/if you have access to some private land - the idea is to treat this like a rally car that I can put a dirtbike in. No need for gigantic travel numbers - shock tuning comes way more into play (hence the likely...
