You can pre-load a spring over or any shackle facing up, but it doesn't help with very little arch, it may make it worse. Shackles facing down cannot be pre-loaded.

I only move the rear mount back on a spring under with the shackle facing up to pre-load the spring.

You are right thinking it is a 12”

The 10" Pure Race is 19.81" compressed.

A bigger tire can make it feel better but it's much better to tune the springs and shocks to get a better ride. My Bronco with 33's rides way better than my Super Duty that has 37's. I have been tuning the red tuck and it's starting to rider better, but I just do not like the loss of performance...
