Hi, I'm looking to do a sas on my 88 Toyota pickup and ended up getting some 14" ifp shocks for the rear. and since I am going to be doing a 63 swap for the back I'm looking at making some shock hoops. I already have some ideas for how they are going to mount but being new to a lot of this off-road fab stuff I just don't know what kind of tubing I should buy. any help would be appreciated thanks.

I would go 1-3/4 from the start since it will likely snowball and you'll end up caging it someday so might as well make it all match.

Either way get DOM, the welded seam is susceptible to ripping at the seam.

And don't hang the mounts too far off the side of a tube as they will twist the tube unless you have a crossbar between the two.

what about wall thickness is there just one general size for 1-3/4?

1/8 (.120 wall)

You can go heavy or thin depending on what you're doing with .188 or .095 - for shock mounts 1/8.

just do 1-3/4" x .120 DOM tubing. pretty much standard size to use on these type of "jumpin trucks" hah
