NORRA 500

We are ready for our second time at the 500 this October. Is anybody else racing or spectating?

I'm suppose to be down there racing... Kind of waiting on a few things from the team I'm helping out but stoked. It'll be my First NORRA 500.

I have some questions for you though since you've ran it before.

How many miles are you guys expecting to be "Special's" vs Highway sections?

We're limited on fuel in the car so I'm trying to plan out fuel stops.

There is a transit from the start of downtown Ensenada to out of town. And usually, 2-3 more they are on the highway, so no one speeds. We usually pit once for a 250-mile stretch in the transit stage. They give you ample time to complete the stage and incorporate any regular pitting without going over the time. The maps come out days before, so no one preruns the course. What is the fuel range, and what type of vehicle are you racing?

That's the thing... We don't actually know the fuel range and we're just kind of hoping it's better then 2mpg...

It's an F100 but with a big boy motor on 40s but...... we only have a 40gal cell. So millage is like 100 miles at best IMOP. But if there are more transit stages we'll be able to average quite a bit higher.

I forgot about the transit to out of town... maybe we'll splash right before we hit dirt.

I've raced the 1000 so I have a little bit of an idea but because they don't give out the race course early I'm trying to be cautions on fuel.

We run the Pre-run truck category. Any vehicle with working doors. Let me know if you have any other questions. I am looking forward to the course and staying in San Felipe than racing back on a different course to Ensenada.

We run a 60-gallon with the Holley hyramat for fuel pickup. SBF 400 hp at the crank on 37's. last year we figured 4.5-5 mpg conservative.

Nice.

Yeah this truck has like a 700+ at the crank... She's a beast.

Its the the F100 that the Isenhouers have been prepping.

That's a nice truck; the brothers do great work! Hit me up when you're down at the race.

I'll be down there. I am leading the safari class and help with some of the organization of it.
The specials will be around 70 miles or less. Norra is trying to make it easy on vehicles (utv) with limited fuel range.
This years course will be fun with a few new sections thrown in.

RAD!

Thanks for the insider info. That's a lot of help on my end haha.
