Not so much a trip but a event. Took my truck the first time ever to midwest dirtfest, I wasn't ready and the truck definitely wasn't ready but I had to make it this year. Ive had alot of people around me pass away the last 4 months and it made me realize that tomorrow isn't promised and if I sat by another year I might not be around for it. So i spend the month prior throwing the truck together as fast as I could. I was hoping to get a good test weekend at silver lake but that never happened. I ended up getting the truck "together" at 6pm Thursday night ripped 2 hot laps around the yard and loaded it on the trailer and started my drive to valley mx. Friday morning they called my group and I went out, first real jump on the track is a step up and I was nervous about the gap so I over did it a little bit. The landing felt great but I heard a loud bang when I landed, stuffed the slip yoke into the back of the trans and lost all gears. A group of guys ended up pushing us off track to get the truck out of the way. But I wasn't disappointed for a second. I didn't care my weekend got cut short. I got out of the truck smiling ear to ear, I put in the work to build a entire truck by hand I showed up and I jumped it. I got to hang out with my friends and make new ones.
