I’m tire shopping. Want to get new treads for the Power Wagon

37/12.5/17 or 37/13.5/17

What’s good out there in tire world?

Truck currently has 8 ply KM3s , they’ve gone hard and the D range tires on a big truck not a big fan of.

I’m going to pass on BFGs , have a had a few sets and just kind of medium on them.

Here’s what I’m looking at

Toyo RT, Falken RT, X Comp XT, Geolander X AT, ???

Open to other options,

I’d like to stick with an RT/XT style tire or a more aggressive AT, in an E rated offering. Not opposed to an MT but tread life is a consideration.

What’s out there? What do you guys like? What can stand up to a big girl on the trail?

I’ve been slowly switching all my vehicles over to kanati tires. So far I’m very happy for the price.
Have mud hogs on my prerunner
Navpoint HTX on my DD tundra
Trail hogs on the wife’s 4runner.

They make a Cammandant ATX with a 4,080lb weight rating in a 37s. Probably put them on my Superduty when the time comes.

I know you said no BFG’s, but Ive had a few customers say how much longer these have lasted on HD trucks, and they are a Load Range F.

Another awesome looking tire are these Toyo R/T Pros. These look like only LR E.

We just put Toyo Open Country R/T 37x12.5R 17LT E Rated on our 2500HD and are happy as pigs in shit.

They ride so nice and quiet, on the trail they grab so well. Aggressive enough but not so much you feel like mudders. A recent trip to Coyote Flats we were extremely happy with them.

This is our first Toyos, this truck has nothing but 35" BFG AT K02's since 2003.....it was hard to switch but glad we did.

A Firestone Tire Shop in Anaheim CA (near Disneyland) had them for under $300 each w/ MFG warranty, date codes were good too.


So far so good.....time will tell on longevity.

I have a couple friends that really love the Toyo RTs, their trucks are pavement queens but glad to hear they served you well off road

I have the nitto recon grapplers on my sierra, they have good traction and are quiet. I also like the yokohama geolanders, for an E rated tire those things ride reallllly nice, I can live with the increase in road noise on the diesel.
