The trip went well. Ended up just being only my boys and I. I've been up here before but it's been over 10+ years since. Plus, I haven't really been on a multi-day trip without my GAK group so I was a bit rusty, planning a route, bringing all the cooking gear, having to make sure my kids don't die. I'm used to just showing up with my tent, beer and all I have to worry is about myself. The off roading was "meh" at best. I think we were some of the first to travel down a lot of the trails. Lots of dead fall across many of the trails we went down. Super pretty up there. Incredible mountain top and valley views. Just mind blowing where some of the trails lead us to. A couple of trails allowed us to park the truck and stand on top of a mountain looking at snowy mountain ranges that expand across the horizon. Green grassy, birds chirpin, butterflies. Pretty much a Disney movie up there.
But overall the trip was pretty rad. Easy trip up, had almost all the trails to ourselves, dope remote campsites and the drive home was fairly quick.
Day 1 - Found dirt, cracked beer
Campsite - Night 1

Brought the WOK this trip.
Day 2 - Cruising around the area
Lots of tree falls

Developed some weird scraping noise while driving. After determining that it only made that noise when I was in 4WD, we stopped at some mountain fire lookout. Made lunch and the boys went to go check out the lookout. I got under the truck and found that the front drive shaft U-joint had a metal shield around it. One of the tabs fatigued and it was rubbing against the drive shaft. Removed that and off we went.

Found campsite 2

The next morning we packed up and headed out. Had breakfast at the Kennedy Meadows General Store. Saw a lot of backpackers coming and going. Was a fun trip.
Next area up there that I plan on checking out again is Coyote Flats.
