Hello I have a 2010 ford ranger 4.0 V6 that isn’t starting. The truck will crank over but doesn’t start. The truck doesn’t produce any spark. Iv replaced the fuel pump, fuses, relays. I had a mechanic use a code reader and it came back with a few anti theft codes. Has anyone experienced this and what was the fix?

What were you doing before it started this problem? What are the codes it threw?
The truck sat for awhile, I started it and drove it to the street. It sat for a few hours and then didn’t turn back on. Not sure what the exact codes were, I need to get them from the mechanic.

A cheap code reader will get you the codes most likely:

Another cheap option is a Bluetooth / wifi dongle that will connect to your phone and you use an app to interact with the data. This is more useful so you can see if certain things are happening when you are trying to narrow down the issue.

There are signs that can point to the cause of your crank no-start. Is the rpm / tachometer moving when you crank it the engine? Immobilizer codes can pop up if you’re using a non-original key on a truck that has a chipped key (2010 might have been late enough to have one, but I know more Toyota information than Fomoco. Start with the codes for sure.
