New job + growing family + too many vehicles so I’m letting it go.
Bought this thing in September of 2024 after it had been sitting on the previous owner’s sideyard for over a decade on PNO. Fab work was rough, didn’t start, and needed a lot of loving. 210,000 miles on the clock.
Here’s some details:
Well built 3 link front suspension. King coilovers, links are 3/8” wall tubing, nicely tig welded. D44 front axle with 5.13 (I believe) gears and ARB air locker, CRM chromoly axles. I rebuilt the engine cage and made a new stainless intake tube to simplify the OEM nightmare. Utilizes OEM air box and passes visual at smog shop. New core support, radiator, headlights (need to be wired in - simple task just no time), and grille.
Rear suspension uses Marlin Crawler leaf springs with Bilstein shocks. Also geared to 5.13, and utilizes an ARB air locker (I have new, spare air hoses that will be included). I verified both lockers function.
Marlin Crawler 4.7 transfer case. Final drive is 256:1 crawl ratio with the 35” tires.
I rebuilt the front bumper out of 1.75” DOM and mounted the Warn 8000 winch.
To get the engine running I ended up doing new fuel tank, filter, pump, Flamethrower upgraded Bosch injectors, both new heads, Felpro head gaskets, ARP head studs, water pump and thermostat. Vacuum lines have all been checked/replaced, EGR valve was cleaned and functions perfectly, new EGR modulator, and it just passed smog (legally). Alternator is new as are the clutch master and space cylinders.
The previous owner did quite a lot of cool mods to the truck. There are two half doors, the bed was dovetailed (narrower at back than front), rock sliders + external C pillar, bed rack with zip up Canvas cover, fold down spare tire holder/tailgate, nicely built stainless steel hot water tank that mounts under the bed and uses a 12v water pump for camp showers, large ammo can mounted in the bed, two ammo cans mounted under the bed, room for two batteries under the bed (currently only one Optima Yellowtop) with battery isolator switch in cab, and CB radio in cab.
At this point I have not yet gotten into any of the wiring but t can use some tidying up along the firewall. Brake lines are kind of floating so they can use some attention. It has a slow oil leak from the valve covers, even with the new gaskets I put in - not sure what’s up with that. Drives fine under 45 mph, but starts getting death wobble above that. I think the tire guys at the llanteria didn’t balance the wheels correctly on purpose because they were mad having to lift the heavy wheels, which is causing the death wobble. Jacking up the front end I don’t feel play in any of the joints. Maybe steering box needs to be tightened/rebuilt? Maybe it needs more caster? I’m not sure, but I’m out of time working on it.
The truck has a ton of great parts, and I have two or three bins of spare parts (motor stuff, joints, bushings, axles, two spare 4.10 differentials).
I’m asking $14,500, but I’m very motivated to sell it, so come at me with a reasonable offer.
