Good to know. It was a chrome bumper that I had sandblasted but did not have the chrome actually removed, just scuffed. That probably had something to do with why the metal etch didn’t work properly
I like their weld-thru paints, especially for frame plating / mounts to coat the inside of bare metal parts before welding on. I'm also a shitty painter but its easy to get a great finish with a stainless steel paint. But this white paint isn't even weldable or have any benefits to their normal...
Wassup BLGT
I've posted a bunch about my Explorer on here but never really started a thread on my XJ... well now its for sale and figured I'd throw it on here too. Its stupid clean and would be an perfect starter for a gnarly build, which is what I plan on doing if it doesn't sell within a few...
3rd bumper on and hopefully my last 🤞🏼. Zero reinforcement on this one and didnt even bother painting the inside due to lack of motivation lol
Anybody have any experience with the White Alloy armor yet? So far i’m not impressed with it. Had the bumper sandblasted, did 2 coats of metal etch...
Photos I took on my moms camera back in high school haha
Photos I took at work at Havasu Airport
Photos I took on the camera I bought for my wife but end up using more than her 🤣
Thats kind of what I did with this one. But I only reinforced the center section in between the frame rails. The next one is either going to be left stock OR fully built, I can’t decide if I want to put any more effort into a 3rd bumper 😂
This was a tiny BLM area off of the highway and they had that cable ran around the whole perimeter. Ideally they need to put reflectors on it every couple feet
Well its been a fucking rollercoaster of a ride for the explorer this week.
Bought a junkyard bumper last Friday. Test fit it, pulled it completely apart, had it sand blasted, then even reinforced it with square tubing. Bought some fancy White Alloy Armor to paint it with. Took my time and had...
Sorry, I keep forgetting to measure but I can just tell you how it feels. My setup now has a hub adapter (NRG SRK-174H), a quick release adapter, and an NRG flat wheel. It feels comfortable, but sticks out a more than I'd like. I have to reach for the turn signals and shifter. My brother in law...
Thats awesome the little guy is able to go with you guys on tougher trails. Curious to see your car seat setup? I have a baby on the way and already have a Nuna pipa for him but considering getting another seat to mount more permanently in my explorer. Thanks!
As far as TTB goes… Rangers came with either dana 28 or 35 beams… im not sure which once you have though. Explorers came with dana 35’s. Broncos and f150’s came with d44’s and f250 came with d50’s. If your truck has a d35 it could be worth it to keep them and modify them. A d44 swap is an option...
Marketplace is going to be your best friend then. Just keep an eye out for some used parts off of a TTB explorer or ranger. I see budget radius arms pop up all the time. And yes f150 springs will be stiffer but thats a good thing. Cutting them wont change the spring rate though, just overall...
