Gotcha.
Where are you measuring the temperature from? Disreagrd...LOL you have a guage on the dash...which the temp sender is in the valvbody. Try driving with tow/haul on. See if that helps.
If it has a shit ton of miles; it may be worn out and slipping, causing excess heat.
If that's pan...
When I was on race gas...fuel for the tow truck is ~$200 and race fuel for the PreRunner is ~$500 (and I typicaly burn 50 gallons in one day/night). Shit ain't cheap!
This was a good setup. But the 12 Valve didn't tow 1/100th good as my new Ram does. New truck is quiet...has the power and brakes and built in exhaust brake which is fantastic for towing.
Ha ha I have had every brand of truck; besides Nissan (friends have had them and liked them). Only cars I have owned is a 1950 Ford Shoebox and a 1967 VW Bug.
Cummins/Dodge always work. Never given me hiccups. And I like the way things are engineered on them. The new Fords are junk..plastic oil...
I personally like Dodge now Ram. Best trucks period. But I have an old Ford F250 because no smog and looks cool. I have owned over 100 trucks in my 40 years ha ha! Cummins for the win.
