Trails in the San Bernardino NF or Nearby for Spring Break (Dad and Daughter trip)

Yeah, coming in off of Dillon road is cool, there is like a stretch right before the NP boundary that would be pretty nice to camp in.

I decided to do Joshua Tree over this weekend.....if DOGE doesn't throw a wrench in our plans, we will be at Ryan Campground...

Memorial Day 2025....What's Happening (Waas Sappening)?

I don't know you....you don't know me......but is anyone planning any localish (SoCal) Memorial Day Weekend trips? If nothing pops up I am planning on trying to snag a yellow post site in the SBNF on Thursday and having my wife meet me on Friday.

Yeah, lol. He camped like right as he gained altitude into the pine forest. So maybe 2 hours from when you get to the trailhead lol. "OVERLAND"

It's $50 for early birds, $25 if you're a Veteran, free if you're active duty, and I think free if you can find "locals" tickets if the high desert is your hood. That's not a bad price for the amount of prep and insurance they have. A women's soccer game (I have a soccer playing daughter) is...

Trails in the San Bernardino NF or Nearby for Spring Break (Dad and Daughter trip)

Burns Canyon is a good, scenic and pretty much easy trail. Anyone with AWD or 4wd can do it and probably anyone with a 2wd and some momentum can do it. Trails in the San Bernardino NF or Nearby for Spring Break (Dad and Daughter trip)

April 2nd - April 4th, I want to go on a camping trip with my 7-year-old daughter. Anyone have any recommendations for places that are interesting, off the beaten path (no tweakers), and somewhat close to the San Bernardino NF or that general area?

I tried too. Here is a free 3 month trial from Northridge 4x4 https://www.northridge4x4.com/pages/onx?srsltid=AfmBOop3XfSUN1QLDe270YrGvCfduQkMrbL7Zb4xefbM4TCGXb_m1NPJ

Yeah, no go. I have done it before on trails like the Old Traction Road, but I believe that is because the "curator" shared them. Here is the link I used to get a free trial of OnX...my wife has a Wrangler, so we buy a bunch of stuff from Northridge 4x4...don't judge...

I tried since I prefer using Gaia, but it looks like it's "locked" for lack of a better term. I'll check again right now.

Dang. If something happened to my Tacoma *knock on wood* I'd be down for an OBS Explorer or 3rd gen 4-runner (the Toyota tax is stupid though)

Ahh ok. I'll just do their free trial while I'm out there. Not an OnX fan, but I get it that they pay the big bucks to get the paywall.
