In our experience, they actually were not very good. That’s why all the military stuff has now phased them out and gone to Fox bumps for most everything.

Yes they are 2 piece wheels. It’s roughly like a 32” tire load range E with tire balls but when I weighed them it was more than a 37” normal off-road tire/wheel.

Actually, that I don’t believe so with this project at least I never worked directly with him. Tommy Morris was a huge part of it though..

These were posted on Tacoma World so I figured I'd share. I cannot confirm nor deny any involvement with any of these vehicles suspension systems, but if I could I'd say that they are shockingly capable at speed. Especially for weighing between 9,000lb and 12.500lb depending on the mission set.

    Leaf spring anti-friction service

Thanks Geoff, well an 11 leaf F-67 is about 65ft so I'd guess roughly 80 feet to be safe. The only downside is price, I have it custom made with the double lip (like an I-beam) so it doesn't fan out, but as we all know custom has a price tag as its $5.50/ft

If anyone is interested, I can provide the Delrin liner by itself if you want to do it yourself. the 2.5" wide material is $5.50/ft

Yes, they are just modified 86-95 4x4 knuckles. And I don't know the model caliper although I may be able to dig it up.

Some images from Speed Metal a few weeks ago. The first time out in the morning I was being a sissy and didn't think I would be jumping any of the jumps, but when I came back to out booth I got a ration of shit from everyone for not jumping. I explained that this is my daily driver, and that I...

Also a side note, I don't know what hubs Mike used, but if you want to make the truck a little narrower you can use Toyota straight axle front hubs on the IFS knuckles and I think its like 3/4" to an inch narrower per side. Another side note, the 2-bolt pattern for the caliper on those...

Right on, Mike must have welded that at some point. If there aren't any cracks then you're good to go. We have those same spindles on our race truck at the shop (I mean the same base knuckle 86-94 4X4) and I've never seen a snout break off, just seen cracks that get welded up and are perfectly...

I did a few off-road trips with Mike in my first few years at Total Chaos. I raced with him in Primm a couple times too in that truck. Mike is one of the original Locos Mocos guys who would go to Mexico and set up pits to fix people‘s shit for free. I always loved that mentality and if anyone...

It started with my truck when it was stock width. The outer joints on the Tacoma and Tundra are the same joint so we had summer brothers machine a set of stock width axle shafts that are Tacoma/4-Runner length but use the Tundra inner CV joint. Then when we did the Military job we had them make...

I also made the custom Upper arms with the 1.5" uniballs but I don't remember the year I made those (its probably stamped in the rear upper arm pivot gusset, along with possibly a note for Mike if I remember correctly). The one thing to keep an eye on with those knuckles is that you need to...
