    Garage or shop tours

Figured I throw in a picture of the shop I work in, been here for 13 years doing sheet metal fabrication for a hvac company. Me and my helper go through about 100k pounds of sheet metal a year out of this small shop. All the standard shears and brakes, almost everything is from the early 1960’s...

    Garage or shop tours

I think you win for 10lbs of shit in 5lbs bag hahaha I feel your pain though my old garage was twice the size of my current one but a better neighborhood and bigger house was needed!

Yes they are 33s. I believe it’s stock gearing, I haven’t looked to verify. I want to go to 35s but going to require a bunch of cutting to clear them, but as it is now I’m happy with it enough power to cruise pretty good.

Those ports bands with the base kick ass for small projects! 90% of the time my bench looks the same hahaha

This was after I cleaned it up, I couldn’t even see the bench 20minutes before this 😂

    Garage or shop tours

Thought it would be cool if we had a thread for garage tours, show what you work out of and some of the tools you can’t live without. I feel like a lot of people getting into fabrication think they need the best tools and huge shop to achieve their goals. I’m working out of a two car garage and...

    Hydrolocked 1995 explorer

Been a while since this has been updated but have had the explorer out once more before I tore into the rear suspension. Shortly after this trip I pulled it in the garage and got started on the rear. Going along with the trend of being a cheap ass I acquired some leaf springs from tree trunk...

    2nd gen explorer build

That looks much better than the previous set up. Make sure you hood still closes too. I had to get a little wester with mine to clear everything

    2nd gen explorer build

If I could give you some advice the tube going across needs to be as close to inline with the uprights off the shocks as you can get it. The way it’s laid out right now your not going to gain much strength, also you need to be sure to leave some room around engine and everything attached to it...

    2nd gen explorer build

Just a heads up those bump stops like to explode, it was to the point where I would keep a spare in my truck. The red urethane ones seemed to last a bit longer than the black though. Looks awesome though, rad to see another second gen 👍🏼

Day Trip: Yucaipa -> Angelus Oaks -> Big Bear -> Pioneer Town & back to Big Bear

Great times for sure! Explorer had no issues, but what was left of the bushings in the rear suspension has left the the chat. Towards the end of the day it’s started feeling like I was in a covered wagon exploring the west. Pretty sure my rear breaks are shot too as they sound like a dying...

    Hydrolocked 1995 explorer

Well been trying to get some miles on the explorer driving it to work here and there. Was able to get some dirt miles on it the other night for the first time along with tree trunks bronco, we both were super happy with how they did. Just a fire road but still had a blast. Next on the list is...

    Hydrolocked 1995 explorer

Well just waiting for a couple fittings to show up for the brakes and the explorer can go for a drive, got everything final bolted, coil overs and bumps mounted and charged with nitrogen, calipers mounted, coolant overflow and ac accumulator mounted. Grungy brake calipers for the win!
