Bikepacking Catalina - Avalon to Little Harbor to Two Harbors and back to Avalon

Yea, it really was awesome. I was thinking of another trip before it was even over. Parson's Landing, past Two Harbors on the west end, is supposed to be a really good campsite too, but its popular so it gets booked up fast. I think staying for two nights in Little Harbor and then making a day...

Bikepacking Catalina - Avalon to Little Harbor to Two Harbors and back to Avalon

The next stop was Two Harbors campground, the route was Isthmus road. The ride to the peak is normally 3.8 miles, with 850ft of climbing with an average grade of 4.2%. I say normally because I stopped just shy of the peak to have a snack and realized I left all of my food and cooking gear in the...

Bikepacking Catalina - Avalon to Little Harbor to Two Harbors and back to Avalon

I bought a Groupon for the Catalina Express back in September with the plan to bring my inflatable paddle board over and do some camping and fishing. With the Groupon expiring soon and the weather getting colder I decided last minute to pivot and turn it into a bikepacking trip. Never having...

What are you listening to these days?

I've been listening to the Descendants lately. I never gave them much attention when I listened to punk avidly, but my brother invited me to a Descendants concert so I had to do some listening homework. I like both their old and new stuff. But what I really like is listening to music on youtube...

    Health/Fitness

I started recording my outdoor activities in the Peloton app so I can track all my effort. I also started running a few miles a couple days a week, the ankles and calves are just starting to get used to it. The elevation metric for outdoor cycling (mtb) is off but the distance seems about right.

Can someone verify these will work?

The Fox 2.0 shock bolt spacers have an OD of 11/16" and ID 1/2". Looks like my temporary trail fix is the permanent solution. I'll just use the two stepped bushings I have up top to keep the tie rod mounting points the same and slide the shocks spacers into the bottom.

Can someone verify these will work?

The part essentially reduces the hole in the spindle from 11/16" to 1/2".

Can someone verify these will work?

I need a pair of stepped bushings for the tie rod to spindle connection for my buggy. This is the closest one I could find. My concern is if there is enough engagement in the spindle with the small step width only being .08". Does anybody know where else I could look for this part? Should I...
