Im less worried about the pivots (like you said i can punch into the cage). im more worried about destroying the tailgate as that seems like the weak link to me. I like the idea of tying into the bumper somehow with a rubber bushing, anyone have an example of how that would look?

Anyone Seen any nifty ways to reinforce the tire swing gate? I have a feeling its gonna try to rip it out of the tailgate... Also gotta lower the rear bench somehow, headroom isnt ideal

Ya i already bought the desolate ones. wish i would have bought the longer versions but they will work. these were only 3/16" and started deforming the holes, i feel much better with the 1/4".
